I got a 1993 bass checked, and found some pretty surprising details about my bass. IIRC, the only changeover in practices around the turn of the century, was that Warwick Germany started taking on more CNC-style tooling in the factories and finishing the basses by hand (as opposed to every bass being 100% hand-built). I have a 2000 Corvette standard 4, and suspect that it was machined, rather than hand-carved - but was still made in Germany. My other bass, a 1993 SS1 Jimmy Earl, was hand built, and still has machine-heads marked 'west germany' - which is kinda cool. I think WoOd643 is right - all the outsourced basses are RockBasses.
